2005 Season is almost Here!

Our new website is almost up and running - Click Here

Please update your bookmarks

What do you need or do for the first day of practice?
1. Running shoes - It will make practice a lot easier than trying to run in basketball shoes.
2. Your Physical Form! (you can't practice without it)
3. Dress appropriately (It is likely to be hot so wear some shorts and a t-shirt)
4. Bring a water bottle to practice. We will leave them at the start when we run, but when we get back you can have a drink. There are also water fountains at practice
5. Your parents should be ready to pick you up by 6pm.
6. If you have any medical conditions such as asthma, let the coaches know and bring your inhalers.
7. Have fun and remember we are a team. The first few days may seem tough, but once you get in the shape it will seem easy. Encourage those who are struggling the first few days and we will all be stronger in the end. In cross country everyone can participate and help the team even if you don't win the race!

Once again we look forward to another fun and competitive season. If you have any questions let one of the coaches know and we will try to answer them. Keep up the good work in school too, we had a great year last year as a large portion of our runners made honor roll. It would be great to see the whole team make it.

Thanks and see you August 8th at Shoaff. (See bottom for more details)

News: (updated 7/27/05)

Matt Fackler , one of our 7th Graders from St. Charles
Just before Christmas '04 Matt had a relapse with his Leukemia .

Matt has done a great job with the Chemo and plans to run again this year with us. His courage is a big inspiration and we're all proud to have as one of the cardegles. Please keep him and his family in your prayers as he continues his treatment and participates with the Team in 2005.

His mom, Nancy is doing a great job of keeping everyone updated as to how Matt is doing at
his caring-bridge website . Be sure to send him a message in the guestbook section.

Below is a Prayer for Cancer Patients

O great St. Peregrine, you have been called "The Mighty", "The Wonder-Worker", because of the numerous miracles which you have obtained from God for those who have had recourse to you.
For so many years you bore in your own flesh this cancerous disease that destroys the very fiber of our being, and who had recourse to the source of all grace when the power of man could do no more.
You were favored with the vision of Jesus coming down from His Cross to heal your affliction. Ask of God and Our Lady, the cure of the sick whom we entrust to you.

(Pause here and silently recall the names of the sick for whom you are praying.)

Aided in this way by your powerful intercession we shall sing to God, now and for all eternity, a song of gratitude for His great goodness and mercy. Amen.
